What is PageBurn?

PageBurn is a variable-speed reader that uses the RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technique. Instead of moving your eyes across a page, the words come to you — one at a time, at the center of the screen.

The result: you read faster, with less effort and without losing the thread.

You can read anything: an article, a PDF, a book chapter, a poem, a long email. If it has text, PageBurn can read it for you.

Getting started

1Load a text

Tap the T button in the bottom bar. The text panel will open with three options:

• Paste text — copy any text and paste it into the box. Up to 2,500 characters in the free version.
• Free Ebooks — free books available for everyone. Tap one and it loads directly.
• Upload file — upload a PDF, TXT or MD from your device. PRO

Once the text is loaded, close the panel. The text will appear ready in the reader.

2Play

Tap the ▶ button to start reading. Words will appear one by one at the center of the screen.

• ◀ — go back to the previous chapter or section
• ▶ — go to the next one
• PAUSE — pause reading at any time

3Adjust speed

Tap the ⚙ button to open the settings panel. There you'll find the WPM (Words Per Minute) slider.

Access by tapping ⚙ in the bottom bar.

Option	What it does
WPM	Controls reading speed in words per minute.
Sound	Activates a soft sound per word to sync the rhythm.
Haptic	Light vibration at word rhythm on mobile devices.
Eye Care	Automatic pause every few minutes to rest your eyes.
Size	Font size in the reader (S / M / L).
Font	Changes the reader typeface.
Words	Shows 1, 2 or 3 words at a time.
Adaptive	Automatically slows down on long or complex words.

Visual customization

Tap the ☰ button to open the customization panel. It has three tabs:

• Skins — changes the full visual theme of the app (colors, aesthetics). Additional skins are available in PRO. PRO
• Display — adjusts the background and palette of the reading screen.
• Text — load or paste the text you want to read.

PRO Version

The free version lets you explore PageBurn with pasted text and the included free ebooks.

With PRO you unlock:

• PDF, TXT and MD file uploads
• Personal library accessible from up to 3 devices
• All skins and visual themes
• All future updates included in the first year

Tips for getting started

• Don't rush. Start slow. The brain adapts to the rhythm within minutes.
• Use Adaptive ON at first — the app adjusts speed automatically on harder parts.
• Eye Care ON if you plan to read for more than 20 minutes in a row.
• Try different fonts. Courier or IBM Plex work great for speed reading.
• The PageBurn Manifesto is a great first text — short, direct, and explains the philosophy behind the app.
